2021 Alberta Summer Games - South Knights Football
The Summer games are postponed until 2021.
The South Knights are made up of both players and coaches from the Rangleland and SAMFA leagues and represents Southern Alberta.
The South Knights is a physically and mentally demanding all-star program. All players in the south will be evaluated on their own performance at the camps and will be given an equal opportunity to make the team. The South Knights will give you an opportunity to compete against the best athletes in the south for one of 35 spots on the roster. You will be exposed for some the best coaching southern Alberta has to offer and will compete against the best Football players in the province. If you were eligible to play Bantam level football in 2019, then you could play for the South Knights.
Also, this year we send 15 of our players to the Football Alberta U16 tryouts. This is the only way you can tryout for the U16 team.
Important Dates are as following:
Try outs /First cuts (you only need to attend 1 of the these 2 days)
Saturday April 18 – Methanex Bowl – Medicine Hat
Saturday April 25 – U of L stadium – Lethbridge
Both are 10am- 4pm, there will be about a 2 hour break for everyone to get lunch.
*try out costs are set by Football Alberta and have not be determined yet
Final cuts
The best from both tryouts come together for final cuts. After final cuts first practice starts
Practices-
– Practice (evening)
– Practice (x2) with a team activity in between.
– Seeding Game in Calgary (we bus there)
– Practice
– Morning practice – Sign in/registration for games.
– Game
– Practice
- Medal games
