U16 Team Alberta Team Selection
Inaugural Junior Bowl Selection Information
Dear Coaches & Team Mangers:
Attached you will find the Nomination Letter for our 2019 U16 Team Alberta Selection Process. As usual we rely on you to be the best arbiter of who should receive these letters within your teams and would ask you to pass them along accordingly to worthy athletes. We do not need a list of who you will be handing these to and there is no minimum or maximum we will simply rely on your discretion to make sure your program is represented properly.
New this year we have our Inaugural Junior Bowl, it is very similar to the previous Bantam Bowls but will be aged based not division/level based. To be eligible to participate in the Junior Bowl you must be born in 2004 or 2005, no exceptions and it doesn’t matter if you play Bantam or High School. The top 40 players from the North & South will be selected and they will play against each other in May in the Junior Bowl. Following this event the Team Alberta U16 will be selected and will attend the Western U16 Challenge in Kamloops, BC, as defending champions next July.
Step 1 – Team North/South Selection Camp
- North Junior Bowl Selection Camp March 15, 16 & 17 in Edmonton at Foote Field – DEADLINE MARCH 1st
- South Junior Bowl Selection Camp April 12, 13 & 14 in Calgary at McMahon Stadium – DEADLINE APRIL 1st
